Carlos Muñiz

Full Professor and Coordinator of the Political Communication Laboratory (LACOP) at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (Mexico).

He holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication (2000) and a PhD (2007) from the University of Salamanca (Spain). He is currently Full Professor, coordinator of the Political Communication Laboratory (LACOP), and leader of the academic body “Political Communication and Public Opinion” at the School of Political Science and International Relations of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (Mexico). He is also a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII) at SECIHTI, level III. His main research lines focus on analyzing media effects in political communication, the impact of communicative practices on the formation of political attitudes, and the framing of events in the media. He is founder and editor-in-chief of Revista de Comunicacion Politica, published by the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Latin American chapter of the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR), the board of the Latin American Association of Electoral Campaign Researchers (ALICE), and the Executive Committee of the Mexican Association of Communication Researchers (AMIC).
