Claudia Feres Faria holds a master’s degree in Political Science (1996) and a PhD in Sociology and Politics (2005) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She was a visiting scholar at the New School for Social Research (USA) from 2002 to 2003 and a visiting researcher at the Centre for the Study of Democracy (CSD) at the University of Westminster (UK) from 2014 to 2015. Since 2023, she has coordinated the ANPOCS Working Group/Seminar Democracies in Decline: Political, Theoretical, and Analytical Challenges. She is Associate Professor VI in UFMG’s Department of Political Science and coordinator of GEDAI - the Study Group on Deliberation, Activism, and Political Inclusion, which develops research in Contemporary Political Theory with emphasis on democracy, deliberation, and participation.
