Jalmar Manuel Farfan Carrasco

Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).

He holds a degree in Statistics from Universidad San Antonio Abad del Cusco, Peru (2002), a master’s degree in Statistics and Agronomic Experimentation from the University of Sao Paulo (2007), and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Sao Paulo. He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and coordinator of UFBA’s specialization program in Data Science and Big Data. He leads the CNPq research group CoSMo - Complex Statistical Modeling. He has experience in Statistics, mainly in generalized linear mixed models, regression models with measurement errors, survival analysis, computational statistics, models with high-dimensional predictors (p>>n), and data science.
