Marcelo Santos

Professor at Universidad Diego Portales and researcher at CICLOS UDP. He studies political communication and the links between digital platforms and democracy.
PhD in Communication Sciences and master’s degree in Semiotics, he is an associate professor at Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile.
He is also a researcher at the Center for Research in Communication, Literature, and Social Observation (CICLOS-UDP), an adjunct researcher at the Millennium Nucleus for Politics, Public Opinion, and Media in Chile (MEPOP), and a member of the INCT.DD network. He researches digital technology and democracy, the political economy of platforms, digitally mediated campaigns and political processes, and inauthentic political influence operations.
