Researcher affiliated with the Department of Political Science at the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA) and the Observatory of Internet Conflicts (OBSERVA).
Associate Professor IV in the Department of Political Science and the Graduate Program in Political Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
He is an associate researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT.DD). He was a visiting professor at the Institute of Latin American Studies (IDELA) at the National University of Costa Rica (2014) and a visiting researcher at medialab - Sciences Po/Paris, France (2021). He coordinates the Center for Research on Politics and the Internet (CePPI-UFMG) and is a researcher at the Observatory of Conflicts on the Internet - Observa (UFABC). His research interests focus on issues related to the use of digital technologies, working on public space and digital participation, data colonialism, and artificial intelligence. He also develops research on democratic theory and collective action. He has publications in international journals such as Latin American Research Review, America Latina Hoy, and Revista Latinoamericana de Opinion Publica.
