Ronaldo Ferreira de Araujo

He completed postdoctoral work at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University, The Netherlands (2024). He holds a PhD in Information Science (2015) and a master’s degree in Information Science (2009) from the Graduate Program in Information Science at the School of Information Science of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He holds a degree in Information Science (2006) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas). He was a visiting professor in the Department of Journalism and Communication Sciences at the University of Porto (2012). He is an assistant professor in the Library Science program of the Institute of Human Sciences, Communication, and Arts (ICHCA), Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). He teaches in the Graduate Program in Information Science (PPGCI/UFAL) and in the Graduate Program in Knowledge Management and Organization at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (PPG-GOC/UFMG). He leads the Laboratory for Metric Studies of Information on the Web (Lab-iMetrics) and the Research Group on Policy and Information and Communication Technology (GPoliTICs). He is a researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT-DD), editor of the journal Ciencia da Informacao em Revista, and an ad hoc consultant for the Alagoas State Research Support Foundation (FAPEAL). His areas of interest include metric studies of information on the web, cybermetrics, altmetrics, information mediation in digital environments, the internet and politics, and information regimes in digital contexts.
