Victor Piaia

Assistant professor at FGV Communication Rio.

Victor Piaia holds a PhD in Sociology from the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-Uerj). He is an assistant professor at FGV Communication Rio, teaching in the undergraduate Digital Communication program and in the Graduate Program in Communication, Society, and Digital Culture. He leads the Research Group in Political Sociology and Digital Transformations and coordinates Dapp Lab, FGV Communication Rio’s applied research and data analysis laboratory. He has worked on academic and applied research projects funded by the European Union, the German Embassy in Brazil, and Meta. He currently coordinates the project Digital Environments, Electoral Cycles, and Campaign Strategies, funded by CNPq’s Universal call. His interests are political sociology, sociological theory, and political communication, with emphasis on the political effects of transformations in everyday sociability.
