Course series on Digital Political Campaigns

INCT.DD opens registration for its Digital Political Campaigns course series, which covers the development and management of election campaigns.

To prepare communication professionals for the new challenges of digital campaigns in 2020, the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT.DD) opens registration for its new Digital Political Campaigns course series. The current program offers broad training in the many areas involved in developing and managing political campaigns during elections. Our instructors have extensive academic and professional experience in the field, supporting a dynamic curriculum focused on results.

The course series has four modules:

Intelligence and Data Analysis in Digital Campaigns

25–29 May 2020 (online module) + mentoring in two stages

7–8:30 p.m.

Crisis Communication in the Digital Age

This module aims to teach students how to deal with fake news and its effects on candidates’ images during political campaigns. It will cover the broader context behind the increase in the spread of fake news and its current characteristics; recurring topics, dynamics, and actors in this type of disinformation; ways to refute false information and the work of fact-checkers; strategies to monitor fake news and involve supporters in the process; and, finally, how and when to respond to fake news, taking its effects on candidates’ public images into account.
