From 21 to 25 January 2019, INCT.DD held its first Summer School, focused on quantitative methods for the social sciences. The initiative took place at INCT.DD headquarters at Facom-UFBA in Salvador. The class had 39 students at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels from various Brazilian educational institutions. Classes covered techniques for handling large volumes of data, statistical tests, specialized software, data scraping, and other topics.
Activities took place in the mornings and afternoons, totaling 40 class hours, with particular attention to tests and practical exercises. Professors Emerson Cervi (UFPR) and Crysttian Arantes (UFSC) led the training.
