To discuss innovations in the 2018 campaign, the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT.DD) will hold the roundtable “The Role of WhatsApp in the 2018 Elections.” It takes place on Monday, 12 November, at 09:30 in the Facom-UFBA auditorium. Professor Wilson Gomes will moderate the event, which brings two researchers associated with the Institute to Salvador: Professor Viktor Chagas (UFF) and doctoral student João Guilherme Santos (UERJ). They will present preliminary findings from their studies on WhatsApp’s roles in this year’s elections. Topics include the circulation of fake news, the formation of collaboration networks, and new forms of activism.
