As part of its transparency policy, INCT.DD has published its 2020 Annual Activity Report. In a year of many challenges and adjustments, the Institute expanded its research base and adapted to the pandemic, with a strong focus on research and academic and professional training. We adopted several remote work technologies. These let us offer new types of content to the public, including more distance learning courses, live discussions of current issues, and open-access online publications. They also kept the team in continuous contact, with even greater involvement in carrying out its activities.
There were many milestones in 2020, but the first INCT.DD International Congress deserves particular mention. Held entirely online, it brought together 188 researchers and students from nine countries. Internal activities focused on discussing and improving work in progress, while major discussions were also open to the public and streamed live. In addition, collaborative research among Institute members continued to grow, along with the publication of reference works.
