Simone Chambers, a professor in the University of California’s Department of Political Science, will give the lecture “Truth, Public Sphere and the Rise of Populism” on 26 March. This is the second edition of International Lectures on Digital Democracy, a project of INCT-DD (the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy). The lecture will take place at 9 a.m. in the auditorium of UFBA’s School of Communication, with free admission. The event marks the opening of the PósCom semester, whose classes begin on 2 April.
Simone Chambers is a recognized professor of political science at the University of California, Irvine, specializing in political theory and democratic theory. Since 2014, she has also been director of the University of Toronto’s Centre for Ethics. She has written and published many articles and books on deliberative democracy, public reason, the public sphere, secularism, and the work of Jürgen Habermas and John Rawls.
