Professor Ricardo Fabrino Mendonça (UFMG), deputy coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT.DD), is taking part in the 9th Meeting on Political Theory and Brazilian Political Thought, held September 14–18 in Salvador.

Ricardo Fabrino is a full professor in UFMG’s Department of Political Science.
Fabrino will join the panel “Democracy in times of transformation: historicity, institutions, and political affects,” on September 18, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Graduate Program in Political Science of the Federal University of Bahia (PPGCP/UFBA), in São Lázaro, Salvador, Bahia.
He will present “Changes in temporality in contemporary institutions and the public sphere.” The panel brings together different perspectives on the contemporary challenges of democracy, institutions, and politics.
Wendel Cintra (UFBA), Gabriela Rosa (UFSCar), Ricardo Silva (UFSC), and Eunice Ostrensky (USP) will also take part. Roberta Soromenho Nicolete (UERJ) will moderate.
About the program
The in-person program runs September 16–18 and brings together researchers from different Brazilian institutions. Panels cover democracy, political thought, authoritarianisms, culture war, global justice, and contemporary political theory.
The event also includes working groups held online on September 14 and 15 to present and discuss research in Political Theory and Brazilian Political Thought.
