The INCT.DD coordinator and full professor at the University will be recognized for his contribution to the institution’s history.
Wilson Gomes, a full professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT.DD), will be honored during the opening ceremony of the 11th UFBA Congress. The ceremony is part of the University’s 80th anniversary program. It will take place on Monday, 6 July, at 17:00 in the Salão Nobre of the Rector’s Office.
The tribute recognizes living people who have made a significant contribution to UFBA’s history. University units and central administration bodies submitted nominations for community members who have stood out for their dedication and important service to the institution.
Nationally and internationally recognized for his academic career, Wilson Gomes is a leading scholar in communication, the internet, politics, and digital democracy. Throughout his career, he has helped train researchers, develop scientific research, and strengthen the production of knowledge at UFBA and in Brazil.
INCT.DD congratulates its coordinator on this important distinction, which recognizes his dedication to the Federal University of Bahia and his contribution to science and higher education in Brazil.
