He holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Contemporary Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), and a degree in Social Communication (Journalism) from the Federal University of Maranhao (UFMA). He is a professor in the undergraduate Digital Communication program at the School of Communication, Media, and Information of Fundacao Getulio Vargas. He is a researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT.DD). He completed a doctoral research period in the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Michigan, funded by the Sandwich Doctorate Program Abroad (PDSE-CAPES), in 2018-2019. He leads the Communication, Society, and Digital Media research group. His areas of interest are digital government, digital democracy, app studies, mobile communication, political communication in digital environments, and data science.
