She holds a PhD in Communication and Culture (UFRJ), a master’s degree in Sociology, and a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication (UFRGS). She is a professor and adviser in PPGCOM/UFRGS and was a CNPq research fellow until 2025. She coordinates the Public and Political Communication Center (CNPq/UFRGS) and OBCOMP - the Public Communication Observatory, and is part of the INCT-DD Management Council. Her scientific production is centered on political communication and public communication. She held coordination roles in communication offices at the Ministry of Education (2003-2005), the Porto Alegre municipal government (1989-1991), and UFRGS (1996-1998). She held representative positions as vice president of COMPOS - the National Association of Graduate Programs - and on the board of COMPOLITICA - the National Association of Researchers in Political Communication. She coordinated the Applied Social Sciences area at CAPES. She is a writer.
