NUCOP

The Public and Political Communication Center, affiliated with the Graduate Program in Communication and Information at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGCOM/UFRGS), aims to develop research and teaching activities directed toward producing knowledge about public communication processes, actions, and political products. Nucop includes doctoral students, master’s students, alumni, and researchers mobilized by reflection and discoveries about the relationships among state, media, and society. In this direction, its intellectual production is marked by the tension created by the paradigms of “public interests and private interests,” which allow analyses of content, structures, and processes related to public events; communication by public and governmental institutions; circulation of sensitive topics in communication networks; public visibility and image; public debates; public media; and exercises of power.
